Glad You Asked: Weekend To Dos

Dear GYA, Throughout history there's been many influential political prisoners, or heroes, that have inspired the human race and pushed us to create better lives for not only ourselves, but more importantly, for our brothers and sisters. With that being said, after five long years, thank god they finally freed Lil Boosie. Anything happening this weekend now that they freed Boosie? -Frank Reshum, Sandy---

Frank, the only sad thing about Lil Boosie being released from jail is now I'm not sure what to do with all these "Freee Boosie" shirts. Here's what's happening this weekend, starting with Friday's events: 

Pennsylvania-based rock band Dr. Dog will be at The Complex tonight. Saint Rich is also performing. The show starts at 8 p.m. Tickets are $20. 

Detroit indie band Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr. will be at The State Room tonight. Chad Valley will warm it up. The show starts at 8 p.m. Tickets are $17. 

Stand-up comedian Jake Johannsen will be at Wise Guys West Valley this evening. There's a show at 7:30 p.m. and another at 9:30 p.m. Tickets are $20.  

Portland punk band Guantanamo Baywatch will be at Kilby Court. Boom! is also on the bill. The show starts at 7 p.m. Tickets are $7. 


Saturday's events:  

WWE Live: Road To Wrestlemania will be going down at The Maverik Center today at 7:30 p.m. Tickets start at $20.  

The Winter Farmers Market will be happening at the Rio Grande Depot today at 10 a.m. Admission is free.  

For some roller derby action, head over to the Derby Depot for the Uinta Madness Derby bout at 7 p.m. Tickets are $10.  

Arizona-based indie band Lydia will be on stage at the Murray Theater tonight at 7 p.m. Tickets are $12.  

The Shred Shed will be hosting the Inland Empire Strikes Back Tour tonight. Tickets are $6. The show starts at 6:30 p.m.  


Sunday's events: 

Psychedelic band Dead Meadow will be at Urban Lounge at 8 p.m. Dark Seas and Red Telephone are also on the bill. Tickets $10. The show starts at 8 p.m. 

Stoner metal band Serial Hawk will be performing at Burt's Tiki Lounge this evening. Oxcross is also on the bill. The show starts at 8 p.m. Tickets are $6.

Bourbon House will be hosting Funk and Soul night with DJ Street Jesus. The music starts at 9 p.m. Admission is free.
