Local alt-rock band
New City Skyline will be hosting an album release party tonight. Westward the Tide are also on the bill, and DJ Ross K will host the afterparty. The show starts at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $10.
Psychrock band
The Cosmonauts will be at The Shred Shed. Super 78, Breakers and Beat Hotel are also performing. The show starts at 8 p.m. Tickets are $10.
Salt Lake City band
Hectic Hobo will be throwing a CD Release party at the State Room. Folk Hogan and Crook and The Bluff will warm it up. The show starts at 9 p.m. Tickets are $10.
'90s alternative band
311 will be at Usana Amphitheater. Dirty Heads, Pepper and Aer are on the ticket. The show starts at 6 p.m. Tickets are $29.
The
SLUG Localized series will be happening at Urban Lounge. Koala Temple, The Pentagraham Crackers and Dog Sweat will be performing. The show starts at 9 p.m. Tickets are $5.
Saturday's events:
City Weekly's Utah Beer Festival will be going down at the City and County Building starting at 3 p.m. Tickets start at $15.
Rappers
Cage and Sadistik will be at Lo-Fi Cafe. Maulskull, Melvin Junko, Pat Maine, G-Life and Dumb Luck are also performing. The show starts at 9 p.m. Tickets are $15.
The
Das Energi fest will be happening at the Great Saltair. With music from Bassnectar, Bingo Players, Madeon, Datsik, 12th Planet, Audien, 3lau, Brillz, K theory, Amanda Darling, Bee’s Knee’s, Breakbeat Mafia, Clearkut, Destrukt and more. The music starts at 7 p.m. Tickets are $43.
Punk band
Ex-Cult will be at Kilby Court tonight. The show starts at 7 p.m. Tickets are $8.

Up in Park City, the
Silly Brewfest will be going down starting at 10 a.m. Live music! Local beer! Farmer's market! Fun for the kids and whole family!
Urban Lounge will be hosting a screening of the skateboard film "
Gravytrain on Biscuit Wheels," and live performance by God's Revolver, Cornered By Zombies and Red Telephone. The show starts at 9 p.m. Tickets are $5.
Over at Bourbon House it's
Funk and Soul night with DJ Street Jesus. The music starts at 9 p.m. There's no cover!
Geeks Who Drink pub trivia will be happening at Piper Down this evening. The quizzin' starts at 7:30 p.m. Admission is free!
