Remember to spit your hardest verse at Weller Book Works' poetry slam tonight

Dear GYA, As an experienced slam poet, I'd like to give you some advice for tonight's Salt City Slam at Weller Book Works, always remember to seize the moment. Some would even say, you better lose yourself in the music, the moment, you own it, you better never let it go. You only get one shot, do not miss your chance to blow. Marshal, thanks dawg. Here's a few other things going down tonight:
Portland-based metal band Muscle & Morrow will be at Burt's Tiki Lounge this evening. Local bands Moon of Delirium, Making Fuck and Die Off are also performing. The show starts at 9 p.m. Tickets are $6.
The California garage band Screature will be playing live at Diabolical Records tonight. Minnesota punk band Kitten Forever is also on the bill. The show starts at 8 p.m. Admission is free!
Devil's Daughter will be hosting the popular Geeks Who drink pub trivia. The quizzin' starts at 8 p.m. Admission is free!
