As reports pile up of trigger-happy and choke-happy police responses around the nation, local activists have decided to keep up the pressure for more transparency and accountability. Saturday activists will rally in Ogden against police brutality for national and local cases, like that of Darrien Hunt, the black 22-year-old Saratoga Springs resident shot multiple times in the back while running away from the police in September.
While Utah has a fine share of writers and poets, we're shockingly low on literary journals and annual publications. That's not to say we don't have any, in fact titles like Sugar House Review have grown to be a must-own books every time they're released, but the truth is that many writers self-publish their works or turn them into zines that you'll find at local coffee shops.
