March Sadness: Why movies rarely get basketball right

If you have spent any time over the last several days agonizing over a spreadsheet full of lines and the numbers one through 16, you have at least a vague understanding that the NCAA men’s basketball tournament is a dizzying, dramatic spectacle that can’t be matched by anything pro sports has to offer. If you love basketball—and I love basketball—you've been curled up in front of the television for hours at a time, just waiting for that next staggeringly improbable finish.

Movie Reviews: Get Hard, Home, It Follows, Grey Gardens

A classic documentary, an animated adventure and an inventive horror tale are among the new releases in Utah theaters this weekend.

Local Releases: The Last March Bombardment

New music from Blackwave, Chase Baker, Soft Touch and more
To say March has been a productive month for local music is an understatement, and as we exit it in just a few days, we still have six releases to talk about. Starting online we've got a new compilation from The Medusa Collective.

TV Tonight: Big Time in Hollywood, FL

What's new on the tube tonight:

She Shreds

Founder Gina Duffy on the women's sports clothing line
One of the coolest local brands coming out with designs for women is She Shreds, an extreme sports fueled business that has been catering to women's style and fashion since their launch back in 2013. Among the gear you can find are hoodies, beanies, sweaters, hats, leggings, neck gaiters and even snowboards, all with their own unique touch from the company to make it durable and stand out in the powder.

Wine Wednesday: Travis Chardonnay

If you're in the market for a great value in a California Chardonnay, Travis Chardonnay 2012 would be awfully hard to beat. For a mere $11.99, you'll be treated to an excellent Chard - one that wine expert Robert Parker awarded a score of 90 points in his Wine Advocate for the 2009 vintage, calling it a "terrific bargain."

New Tunes Tuesday: Action Bronson, Courtney Barnett, Jeff the Brotherhood

Greetings, music fans, here's another mix of new tunes for you. My favorite albums coming out this week are probably the new releases from Queens rapper Action Bronson and Australian singer-songwriter Courtney Barnett.

March Gallery Stroll: Liberty Blake

An interview with the mixed media artist from her Phillips Gallery show
As we come out of the dry chill that has been the winter season, we're seeing more people make their way out and attend the monthly Salt Lake Gallery Stroll. This month we wandered down to Phillips Gallery on 200 South where Larry Elsner and Denis Phillips were on display on the main floor, while down in the Dibble Gallery we had mixed-media artist Liberty Blake showing off her latest works.

Monday Meal: Chicken Piccata

Chicken piccata - a tangy dish with a lemon and caper sauce - is remarkably easy to make. In less time than it takes to boil water for a side of pasta, you can cook the entire thing.
