It appears we're starting to reach the end of festival season, and with it the end of summer is on the way. Both of which mean we'll start seeing release shows pick up this fall. But in the meantime, we're running on fumes headed into September, so let's check out what remains of August. We'll start with some country music from Mike Paine, a South Jordan native who just released his first album, Back To The Country. It's a pretty decent album with some cool talent backing him up, all recorded out in Nashville. You can download it for $7 off of Bandcamp.

Moving into jazz, we have the debut from The Salt City Six. This is a big ensemble comprised of Austie Robinson, Jory Woodis, Brian Woodbury, Kurt Reeder, Zoë Jorgenson, Brennan Tolman and Marcus Voght. Wait a tick ... that's seven. Oh well, that's why you never put a number in the band's name, kids! Their album, Sunnyside Avenue, is upbeat and kinda dance-y, but feels more like music you'd be hearing at Lagoon. You can get a digital copy for $10 or a physical copy for $15 from Bandcamp.

Next up, we move into electronica with the latest from SUNSCREEN, an electro-beat producer out of SLC who has chosen to stay behind a moniker. They've had two albums out already this year, The Palace and Time Depleted, both released back in March. Their latest, Lucid Nights, is taking a slower and darker turn than the previous two. You can download it for whatever you'd like to pay on their Bandcamp page.

Finally, the one release show this week comes to us from Beneath Red Skies. The five piece metal band from Midvale is comprised of Anthony Bronson, Patrick Bronson, Daniel Vincent, Misshii Sampson and Gary Gardner. The band have two years under their belts, playing local shows and getting some recognition, but Welcome To the Death March will be their debut EP. You can snag it tonight at The Loading Dock for their release show, along with I Capture Castle, Aether and Wired For Havoc opening the show. Tickets are $12 and the doors open at 6:30 p.m.
