A thin crop of new movies is led by one 800-pound comic-book-adaptation gorilla, and a couple of standouts from Sundance 2016.

In The Innocents, writer/director Anne Fontaine tells a compelling story of the atrocities of war through the eyes of a post-World War II Red Cross nurse and nuns in a Polish convent.

Victor Morton praises the documentary Eat That Question: Frank Zappa In His Own Words  (pictured) for capturing the iconoclastic musician's justified conviction that he was always the smartest man in the room.

Eric D. Snider ponders of Nine Lives how a Disney Channel movie somehow found its way into theaters.

In this week's feature review, Suicide Squad finds Warner Bros./DC desperately playing catch-up with the Marvel cinematic universe, and coming with merely a sloppy copycat.
