Well-respected and well-known in the wine world for being a pioneer of American Pinot Noir – as I’ve written previously in my
City Weekly Drink column – Rick Longoria (
longoriawine.com) is best known for his Pinot, but actually makes 14 different wines.
Well, April 13th is a lucky day for wine lovers as Rick will be hosting a wine dinner with sommelier Louis Koppel and the good folks at BTW Wine Bar (63 W. 100 South, SLC, btgwinebar.com). Featured Longoria wines will be Clover Creek Vineyard Albariño (only 70 cases produced), Cuvée Diana Chardonnay (named for Rick’s wife and winery partner), fresh and vibrant Lovely Rita Pinot Noir (from the hills of Santa Rita), and one of my favorites: Blues Cuvée, a proprietary red wine blend based on Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah.
The wines will be paired with specially selected food courses and dinner begins at 7 PM. The cost, per person, is $31 for the (optional) wine pairings and $29 for food. Call 801-359-2814 for reserve seating, which is limited.
