The Memorial Day weekend brings two big summer releases, while even art house documentary brings us a disappointing sequel.

Buena Vista Social Club: Adios follows up the 1999 documentary with more details, but a missed opportunity to explore one particularly intriguing story in depth. My Entire High School Sinking Into the Sea brings a unique animated style to a cross between Titanic and The Breakfast Club that skimps on character details.

MaryAnn Johanson laments the uncalled-for Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales  (pictured) offering little more than CGI spectacle and convoluted plotting.

Eric D. Snider praises the performances by Debra Winger and Tracy Letts anchoring the domestic drama of a possibly-disintegrating marriage in The Lovers.

In this week's feature review, Baywatch attempts every possible approach to TV-to-movie adaptation at the same time.
