Pioneer Day and Days of '47 activities dominate the week for much of Utah; here are a few more items than we can fit in a single print edition.
After the Days of '47 Youth Parade on Saturday, July 22, parents and kids gather at the
Family Festival at Washington Square (200 E. 450 South) 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. for inflatables, face-painting, games, pioneer educational opportunities and more. All activities are free and open to the public; snacks and frozen treats available at additional cost.
For somewhat messier kid-friend activities, join the
Thanksgiving Point Jigglefest at Ashton Gardens (3900 N. Garden Way, Lehi) July 22, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. Visitors can participate in Jell-o food fights on the half-hour, followed by a chance to clean off in the sprinklers. Event is free for Thanksgiving Point members, or included with regular Ashton Gardens admissions ($12-$15).
Comedian Jay Whittaker (pictured)—past winner of
City Weekly's Best Comedian reader award and regular member of the
Geekshow Podcast crew—
headlines at Wiseguys Gateway July 22, 7 & 9:30 p.m. for shows that will be filmed for a comedy special. Tickets are $15 at the Wiseguys website.
