Summer may be winding down, but Utah's arts & entertainment options never dwindle. It's time to go Beyond Essentials.

The brand-new Oquirrh West Project contemporary dance company (pictured) presents its inaugural concert at the Rose Wagner Center (138 W. 300 South), Aug. 25, 5 & 7:30 p.m. Guest performers from the Junior Company are scheduled to join the featured company members. Tickets are $14 general admission.

The Leonard commemorates the one-year anniversary of its Flight exhibition with the Family Flight Festival.  From Aug. 25-27, enjoy a variety of activities for kids and grown-ups, including paper-rocket-making and experimental aviation displays, a DIY drone workshop, panel conversations on subjects including women in flight, hot air balloon demos and autographs with astronaut Jake Garn. Saturday and Sunday activities included with museum admission; visit the website for full details.

Erica Hansen returns to the title role in The Grand Theatre's (1575 S. State, 801-957-3322) seventh production of the popular Always ... Patsy Cline. The two-woman show, based on the friendship between country music legend Patsy Cline and Houston housewife Louise Seger, runs Aug. 24-Sept. 22. Tickets are $14-$23
