Amy Schumer headlining a high-concept rom-com and a long-time-coming comedy sequel hit multiplexes ahead of the Avengers onslaught, and art houses feature a brutal action thriller and a long-time-coming documentary sequel.

I Feel Pretty (pictured) showcases Schumer and a terrific supporting cast in a story that could use a few more jokes. Lynne Ramsay gives a masterful clinic in film directing for the tale of an emotionally damaged private investigator in You Were Never Really Here. Filmmaker Thomas Riedelsheimer revisits environmental artist Andy Goldsworthy for a resonant portrait of creator and his creations in Leaning Into the Wind.

Andrew Wright shrugs at the long-awaited sequel Super Troopers 2 as a retread of the original.

In this week's feature review, MaryAnn Johanson praises Final Portrait for its study of the relationship between a moody artist and his subject.

Also opening this week, but not screened for press: Omar Epps and Paula Patton play a couple whose romantic holiday runs afoul of a biker gang in Traffik.
