A thin week for new releases brings a sequel to a morally-grey thriller about the War on Drugs, and a feature film version of a Pepsi Max ad campaign.

Uncle Drew turns a series of faux-documentary commercials into a comedy that seems to think NBA players in old-age makeup are funnier than Tiffany Haddish.

Eric D. Snider laments that Sicario: Day of the Soldado (pictured) replaces the original's moral quagmire with a grim tale of agents who enjoy killing and learn nothing from mistakes..

Also opening this week, but not screened for press: Sanju gives the biopic treatment to controversial Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt.
