Peace Crusaders

Local group still gathers once a month to protest the U.S. war involvement.
Aside from a rainstorm or two, they’ve been out at the corner each month holding signs that say “War is not the answer,” “Stop the wars,” and other phrases encouraging peace.

More than 100 immigrants and refugees were naturalized Friday.
On Friday, the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services office welcomed 111 new citizens in its annual Independence Day celebration at the Rose Wagner Performing Arts Center.

Music Monday 7/2: Boytoy, Echo Beds, Freedom Festival and more for your holiday week

Last February, I swooned when Oklahoma psychedelic surf rock band Planet What came through town, sending a few sonic booms out from Diabolical Records’ cozy confines. This week, the trend continues when Brooklyn’s Boytoy headline a Tuesday, July 3 show at Diabolical, bringing salty licks from their latest album, Night Leaf, to the Wasatch Front.
