Local arts & activities offered free to furloughed federal employees

The list of organizations and venues offering free tickets or admission to federal employees during the current government shutdown continues to grow. Here's a running list of who has offered such relief so far.

Discovery Gateway Children's Museum: Free admission to employees and immediate family with ID at front desk during regular operating hours.
Hogle Zoo
: Free admission to employees and their immediate families during the shutdown.
Odyssey Dance: Contact Kingsbury Hall box office (801-581-7100) for details about receiving tickets for upcoming Shut Up and Dance performances (Feb. 27-March 9).
Ogden Nature Center:  Free admission Wednesdays and Saturdays; sign in and show ID upon arrival.
Utah Film Center
: Employees can receive a code good for 4 free tickets  to a film of their choice in the upcoming Tumbleweeds Film Festival for Children & Youth (March 1-3); email info@utahfilmcenter.org.
Utah Museum of Fine Arts
Free admission to employees during the shutdown.
Utah Presents (University of Utah): Four free tickets to all furloughed employees to any remain performance on the schedule (excluding Banff Film Festival and At the Illusionists' Table); call 801-581-7100 to reserve tickets.
Utah Symphony/Utah Opera: Tickets available for Utah Opera's The Little Prince (through Jan. 27) and Utah Symphony performances including The 5 Browns (Jan. 26) and Symphonie fantastique (Feb. 1-2). Call 801-533-NOTE (6683) to reserve, and present ID upon pick-up.
Utah Jazz: Tickets donated by season-ticket holders have been made available on a limited basis to furloughed employees with ID, for games including Jan. 25 vs. Minnesota Timberwolves. Limit 2 per person at Vivint SmartHome Arena box office.
The Ziegfeld Theatre (Ogden): Free "date night" package to its production of The School of Rock musical.
