In our Feb. 27th issue, we wrote about the innovative collaboration, Train Tracts. And after riding the rails for a month, the results of the traveling literary journals have arrived at the station and are now on display at the Rio Gallery in Salt Lake City as Transcontinental: People, Place, Impact.

Connecting strangers along the original route of the Transcontinental Railroad, the artistic experiment is part of Utah’s celebration of the Golden Spike’s 150th Anniversary. Visitors can witness the mischief and magic its journey has produced through June 14 at the gallery, with a special event on April 19 from 4-9 pm. With a lively reading of the 2019 Train Tracts, followed by a conversation with the artists, writers, and “mules” who participated in this collaborative art project, an exhibition reception for Transcontinental: People, Place, Impact will immediately follow.
