Station Park

Get out of SLC: Farmington's Station Park mall has it all
When I moved from Philadelphia to Utah in 2003, the shopping and restaurant choices were minuscule; there was Nordstrom (in its dingy '70s digs in Crossroads Plaza) and Olive Garden (no comment).

Bootie Call

Step into autumn with with a new pair of booties
Now that Indian summer is behind us, it's time to step into autumn with booties. Booties are everywhere this fall, and they pair well with all lengths of dresses, skirts, jeans and even shorts.

Current Mood: Sweaters

Transition to fall with these cool-weather tops
I've crossed over to the colder side: from tees to sweaters, from rosé to red wine and from the downtown Farmer's Market to soccer games (well, kind of—I'm not giving up on fresh local veggies until the bitter end).

Fall Into Autumn

Shopping for Halloween décor and all things pumpkin
I am a diehard summer girl—I am a Leo, after all. I've been ignoring the reality that "my" season is over, but I am finding reprieve in the colors of fall and everything pumpkin-related.

The Man Bag

Make a statement with the right male accessory
Men's fashion has been underrepresented in Salt Lake City for a long time. I have to thank the late Bill Loya and his namesake store and Jack Barnard of the Chalk Garden for helping to drive fashion to our salty city long before Nordstrom moved to the City Creek Center and before Trax existed.

Fashion Rolls Back

Stepping out in '70s style
I'm a 1970s girl. Seventies' fashion is very real for me because I got to watch my mom dress up on Thursday nights to go dancing at the Élan, a Philadelphia nightclub in the vein of Studio 54. It was a decade of decay and decadence.

Indian Bazaar

See the colors of India at Salt Lake City's C.G. Sparks
There is a place in Utah where the colors of India are on display in a 13,000 square-foot furniture warehouse.

The Skin You're In

Restore yourself with Utah-made skin-care products
Summer, I love you, but my skin isn't getting any younger, and Utah isn't getting any wetter. Utah is the second-driest state in the nation, next to Nevada, and my skin is parched this time of year, especially since I'm a sun worshipper.

That Doggie in the Window

Get your canine shopping on in SLC
Some people say I'm a little obsessed with my dogs. OK, I'm a lot obsessed. As in, I have their birthdays tattooed on my forearm. Heaven help me, crazy cat ladies, you are off the hook!

Tell the Bees

Honoring the honeybee in SLC
I was able to snag a coveted ticket to The Book of Mormon and I thought it was hilarious, vulgar and downright awesome. To think that our city and its people were parodied for the entire county makes me giddy with pride.
