"Comfort animals"—which are different than service pets—have become quite the rage in this decade, but, sadly, some people don't find them so comforting.
December is a time of giving-giving to the less fortunate to make sure they have shoes, socks coats and food; giving to your family to let them know you care, and giving to your beloved because, oh, the trouble you'd be in if you opted out of presenting a token of your affection.
The premise is that everyone participating brings a wrapped present which is placed in a pile of other presents, and the goal is not to get a really great gift but to entertain the party-goers.
