A Utah jazz original, Joe McQueen was the first African American to perform in white-only clubs in Ogden and Salt Lake. Known for his bluesy style, McQueen has been playing for more than 80 years, and has performed with jazz greats such as Louis Armstrong, Count Basie, Nat King Cole, Duke Ellington and Charlie Parker.
