As the gap between the richest Americans and everybody else continues to expand at an alarming rate, it's curious how a state like Utah, with a minority of the super wealthy, continues to overwhelmingly vote Republican, though the evidence leaves little doubt that Republicans, especially on the national level,
Most everyone has at least some opinion on the place called heaven, where, it's claimed, the righteous will live after death. I'm sure my view is not one shared by the majority of Utahns—I'm agnostic and have no idea one way or the other if such a place exists.
I’m no expert when it comes to professional basketball. I played a little basketball in my teenage years, but it was nothing to brag about. Although I’m 6-foot-4-inches tall, I couldn’t even jump high enough to dunk the ball as a second-stringer on my high school team. Still, I’m a huge NBA fan, and an even more enthusiastic Jazz supporter.

Though I lean progressive, I make it a practice to watch Fox News to consider opposing viewpoints more fairly. It often irks me to listen to talking heads who spout disdain for beliefs I hold close to my heart, but I do it anyway. I figure my political stances aren’t worth much if they can’t withstand the hate of the opposition.
