This week is all about giving back and fighting back. The Sorenson Unity Center is looking for part-time afternoon youth mentors—no experience required. You can also celebrate the Fourth by standing up for your Fourth Amendment Rights against unlawful search and seizure by joining a protest outside Utah’s NSA “spy center.” Then swing by a carwash fundraiser to get your vehicle cleaned and support a scholarship that helps people pay for drug treatment.

Restore the Fourth NSA Protest
Thursday, July 4

Affidavits and the information of whistleblower Edward Snowden has shown that the National Security Agency has been involved in a massive data-collection project, allowing for wireless phone taps and intercepting the e-mails of millions of American citizens. The spy operation is done without warrants, so activists are rallying to remind the spymasters that such clandestine efforts represent “unreasonable searches,” in violation of the Fourth Amendment.

SOL Scholarship Foundation Carwash Fundraiser
Saturday, July 6

The Sobriety Optimization League (SOL) Scholarship Foundation knows that addiction is a hard hole for people to dig themselves out of, especially when effective treatment can be costly. That’s why the nonprofit raises money for scholarships to help deserving individuals access life-saving drug treatment. Come get your ride cleaned and help others clean up their lives at the same time.
