Being Human: Season 2
Soon to be ruined by U.S. TV, the funny/scary/supernatural BBC series about a vampire, a werewolf and a ghost trying to fit into small-city life. Better than Twilight, Vampire Diaries and, yes, True Blood. (Warner Bros.)
Joel McHale, Allison Brie, Danny Pudi and Gillian Jacobs kill it in NBC’s most unpredictable comedy about a sad, sad place: community college. Also featuring the best classic-film tributes on television and the ghost of Chevy Chase. (Sony)
How much longer can this go on before it becomes The Golden Girls? Botox isn’t forever. In this season, the Housewives fight, scheme and attempt facial expressions—plus, some lesbian action and a plane crash thrown into the mix. (ABC Studios)
All of the hype about Modern Family being the funniest comedy on TV today? Mostly true—save for the Valuable Life Lesson that apparently must be learned at the end of every episode. But, Ed O’Neill is still America’s TV Dad. (Fox)
Speaking of comedy: Spartacus: Blood & Sand is the most ridiculous, bloody, oversexed and cheap-looking drama in premium cable (well, Starz) history—which is why it’s fun to watch. Bonus: There’s no pesky story to follow. (Anchor Bay)
