Super Solitude
Suppers Solitude Mountain Resort’s (12000 E. Big Cottonwood Canyon Road) monthly al fresco wine dinner series returns Saturday, June 29. Wasatch Mountain Table dinners feature unique menus created by Solitude Executive Chef Michael Richey, paired with specially selected wines and served under the sun (then stars) at a communal table next to Big Cottonwood Creek on the lawn outside St. Bernard’s restaurant. Wasatch Mountain Table dinners typically include winemakers, as well as local farmers, ranchers and artisan food providers. Saturday’s dinner will feature four courses, with wine pairings created by Pago sommelier Evan Lewandowski. Menu items will include tempura-fried squash blossoms with housemade ricotta and preserved lemon; grilled Monterey calamari and pancetta skewers with curry and quail egg; smoked pork loin with cranberry beans and rhubarb barbecue sauce, baking-powder biscuits with peaches and cream and more. The cost for dinner is $75 per person, or $110 with the optional wine pairings. Upcoming Wasatch Mountain Table dinner series dates are July 13, Aug. 3 & 17 and Sept. 7. For reservations, call 801-536-5722, and visit SkiSolitude.com for more information.

New Tuscan @ City Creek
A new Brio Tuscan Grille opens at City Creek Center on Thursday, June 27. There’s also a wrap-around patio for al fresco dining. Brio will offer lunch, brunch, happy hour and dinner, and will be open seven days a week: Yes, you can actually eat on Sunday at City Creek. Visit BrioItalian.com for more information.

Quote of the week: The way I saw it, one of the single greatest advantages of being in a relationship was that you got to eat off the other person’s plate. —Nicole Peeler
