Burlesque
Cher, Christina Aguilera and Kristen Bell star in the tale of a small-town girl who transforms from cocktail waitress to burlesque star overnight. It’s different than Coyote Ugly or Showgirls, in that people actually saw those. (Screen Gems)
An ex-con (Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson) is out to avenge the murder of his brother, and only Billy Bob Thornton stands in his way. That’s right, all 98 creaky pounds of him. There are also car chases, which should pad time. (CBS Films)
A pharmaceutical rep (Jake Gyllenhaal) falls for a free-spirited girl with Parkinson’s disease (Anne Hathaway); ’90s hits, passing Viagra references, Oliver Platt, excellent nudity and The True Meaning of Love ensue. (Fox)
An unlucky-in-love woman (Alyssa Milano) finally finds Mr. Right—two of ‘em, actually: A writer and an advertising exec. What to do? All logic says to dump the writer—but since he’s Christopher Gorham, probably not. (Gaiam)
Celtic queen Boudica (Alex Kingston) leads her people in a violent uprising against the oppressive Romans in the first century A.D. Since it’s from Masterpiece Theatre, not Starz, it’s also somewhat historically accurate. Too bad there's no trailer ... (BFS)
