If hearing the word “dance” evokes images of a dark nightclub—one hand glued to your cell phone, the other wrapped around a PBR—it’s time to get real and get cultured. BYU’s Living Legends fuses Polynesian, Native American and Latin American dance for an international blend of music, movement and talent. With performers from across the globe, this is the real deal—students representing their native countries and sharing their cultures with audiences through dance. Living Legends has been traveling the world for more than 35 years, performing in more than 45 countries and representing the United States at the 1992 World’s Fair.
The show focuses on seasonal changes throughout the ancient Americas and the Pacific, featuring music and dance from Alaska to Bolivia, Guatemala to Fiji. With traditional costumes—big, beautiful and bright—combined with their song and dance, the performers at Living Legends are sure to impress even the most culturally challenged. It will be a night that’s sure to convince you—wherever your roots are—to put down the PBR and get your dance on.
