Personally, I’ve never met anyone with a better knowledge of and appreciation for wine than Vine Lore Inc.’s Gus Magann. Apparently, I’m not alone in that notion. Utah’s own Magann was selected to be a member of the judging panel for this summer’s 2008 California State Fair Commercial Wine Competition, largely regarded as the “best wine competition in the West.” In order to be selected, Gus passed a rigorous wine judge’s exam administered through UC Davis and proved consistency and success in the blind evaluation of wines. Way to go, Gus!
