The day before GARFO’s Press Plush opens, hot on the heels of Eliza Fernand’s art talk there at 4 p.m., GARFO offers a “party bus” to the opening reception of a show at the Central Utah Art Center in Ephraim. Fernando Villena, Birch Creek artist in residence, has a new series of works “based on the search and comprehension of different spatial organic planes pulled from daily realities into its ultimate transformation into a pictorial abstract and photographic reality”—whew, the description alone is dizzying.

The Doomslangers group of artists includes drawing, painting, installation, performance, video and sculpture—all related to their Dungeons & Dragons adventure to “protect the city of Dingershare, root out evil and make sure the Silver Noni Fruit doesn’t fall into the hands of Lord Ricaek.”

Fernando Villena & Doomslangers @ Central Utah Art Center, 86 N. Main, Ephraim, 801-214-8278, opening reception April 8, 6-10 p.m, free. Bus departs GARFO, 1838 S. 1500 East @ 5:30 p.m., picking up in Provo @ 100 W. 100 North, bus tickets $15. CUArtCenter.org
