No rhythm? No problem. Karamba (2100 S. 1050 East) inspires even two-left footed club-goers to get up and dance. On Aug. 9, the venue hosted the annual Gay Pink Party. A crowd of shirtless Latin men and a fair share of ladies shook their hips to pulsing Spanish-language tracks. Free HIV testing was also on site, proving that promoter Manuel Arano knows how to throw a wild and safe party.

Resigned to the economic downturn, many people have taken to “nesting” (this is a real industry term) at home with liquor instead of going out and supporting local nightlife. But before you stay in, check the recent perks of hitting the town:
Utah is slowly legalizing adulthood! The state has abolished Stone-Age legislation mandating the purchase of a membership at clubs as a “necessary evil” caveat. The reemergence of the restaurant/club and pub concept. With the Beerhive Pub and The Green Pig Pub—and others in the works—you can stay out for a late dinner and get a drink, too. New clubs are still sprouting. With the addition of beautiful new venues—including The Rails (235 N. 500 West) hosting its first toga party Aug. 22—awesome spots for nightlife are still emerging and need your support more than ever.1.
