Get the Skinny
Low-calorie cocktails to lose weight? Now, that’s my kind of diet! Z’Tejas Southwestern Grill has added a new line of alcoholic beverages, all under 250 calories, to their libation lineup. They’re calling it their “Skinny Drink” menu. Among the skinny drinks is the VeeV Spa Cooler, made with VeeV Acai Spirit, the world’s first acai spirit made from the popular acai fruit of Brazil. The beverage combines the exotic acai flavor with lime juice, cucumber and refreshing mint. Also on the “Naturally Skinny” menu is the Skinny Margarita. It’s a low-calorie margarita made with Cabo Wabo Reposado Tequila, triple sec, fresh lime and agave nectar—a slimmed-down alternative, with fewer calories, to a traditional served-on-the-rocks margarita. Z’Tejas is located in The Gateway at 191 S. Rio Grande. Phone 801-456-0450 for details and reservations or go online to ZTejas.com.

Bowled Over
Jupiter Bowl, in Park City’s Newpark Town Center, offers a killer bowling deal on Sundays for families or just a group of friends. On Sundays from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., Jupiter Bowl hosts Family Night, where up to six guests get unlimited bowling with shoe rental, soft drinks and a large pizza for only $49.50. And, as you’d know if you read my recent Jupiter Bowl review, the food here isn’t your daddy’s bowling-alley food. The pizzas are awesome as are made-to-order dishes ranging from light appetizers to full-on meals. Find out more at JupiterBowl.com.

Caputo No. 2
Just in case you’ve been living under a rock and haven’t heard yet: Caputo’s on 15th—the sister store of Tony Caputo’s Market & Deli—is open. According to the folks at Caputo’s, “Caputo’s on 15th is a concentrated version of the award-winning Tony Caputo’s Market & Deli in downtown Salt Lake, the city’s leading purveyor of distinctive regional Italian and Southern European foods. The top selections from the original Caputo’s have been distilled into a 1,600 square foot store that features hundreds of farmstead and artisan cheeses, cured meats and charcuterie, gourmet chocolates, olive oil, vinegar, pasta, grass-fed meats and a wide-selection of Utah’s best seasonal foods.” 1516 S. 1500 East, 801-466-6615, CaputosDeli.com
