Millcreek Market Launch
The Millcreek Community Market kicks off its 2012 season on Thursday, July 26, from 4 to 8 p.m. The market is a free, family-friendly event featuring products and crafts from a wide variety of farmers, gardeners, food vendors and artists, along with live music and interactive demonstrations. The main focus of the market is education and awareness of food sources: where food is grown, and how it’s processed and distributed. Amber DeBirk, executive director for the Millcreek Community Market, has two young daughters with food allergies and says, “I need to know exactly where the food my family eats comes from and what’s in it. I’m proud that the Market’s mission is to bridge that gap of information—what happens from the vine to the dinner table.” The Millcreek Community Market will be held at the Historic Baldwin Radio Factory (3474 S. 2300 East) every Thursday through October 4.
