Utah’s LGBT community outdid itself with this year’s Pride Day festivities, rainy weather be damned! The parade went on (City Weekly was an entrant), all the artists and musicians were on hand and nobody went home with a sour taste in their mouths except a paltry number of protesters. Kudos to Salt Lake City residents, and to the city itself, for supporting such a beautifully open-minded weekend to take place. The sun ultimately broke through the clouds on Sunday making for awesome musical sets, drag queen competitions and a rally speech from Pride ’09 Grand Marshall Cleve Jones.
