Your cover story on small, wholesome businesses selling out to large corporations [“The Bleach & the Bees,” March 26, City Weekly] was interesting, but Andrea Whitfill evidently missed a few facts.

Roxanne Quimby, founder of Burt’s Bees, indeed goes around buying up huge chunks of land in Maine, but she does so with the intent of donating those chunks as untouchable public land. In fact, Quimby plans on turning tens of thousands of acres of her purchase into a national forest.
