The Utah Division of Arts & Museums announces “The Cost of Anything,” an exhibition on display at the Alice Gallery from May 15 - July 10, 2015. An opening reception will be held on May 15th from 6 – 9 p.m. for Gallery Stroll. Artists include, Abe Kimball, Adam Larsen, Chris Purdie, Jason Lanegan, Madison Smith and Paul Woods.

The work in this exhibition includes artifacts that might be considered obsolete, yet in their altered context, gain renewed contemporary credibility. Artists commit considerable portions of their mortal existence to creative endeavors in exchange for the prospect of leaving vestiges of their unique existence. Desiring more than an implicit pursuit to determine the amount of life dedicated to the creative act and to calculate the intrinsic value of the resulting artifacts, each work included in this exhibition has been laboriously documented by itemizing time, emotional, and monetary investment. Works range from sculpture, video, paintings, mixed media, and prints.
